Honey Mother Honey Dew is a special Black Forest Beechwood Honey from New Zealand. This raw, unheated honey has a beautiful dark reddish amber color.

Unlike regular honey, and even manuka honey, which are made from nectar, beechwood honey is made from the sap of the beech tree. It's long been called Black Forest Honey in New Zealand and Europe, and has a deeply aged flavor, similar to brown sugar or molasses. It's a rare delicacy that honey lovers can't miss!

Hailing from the beautiful and pristine beech forests of southern New Zealand, this honey is created in such a unique process which highlights the rich ecosystem of New Zealand's nature reserves.

Insects living in the forest consume the sap of the beech tree, and convert it into a nectar that they secrete on the bark of the tree. Next, bees collect the nectar and carry it back to their hives, where it is slowly aged.

This multi-step process imbues the honey with rich vitamins, minerals and enzymes. This delicious honey has a uniquely deep and developed flavor, and truly is a treasure of nature.

Instructions

Spread on toast, mix through yogurt, or combine with black sesame paste (nerigoma) to create a nutty, sweet spread. This honey is extremely versatile, and lends itself well to sweet or savory dishes.
